Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMo)
Since the conception of PATAG, we have partnered with Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMo), through the kindness of Mr. Marlon Martin (COO, SITMo).
SITMo is a non-government organization which aims to conserve and protect the Ifugao Rice Terraces and Ifugao’s culture as a whole. SITMo focus on youth education in order to pass on the traditional knowledge which includes the natural and cultural values of their ancestors. The organization's beneficiaries are the local communities in Ifugao, their youth and the whole Ifugao community.
As part of our commitment of helping the communities, we promise to give back and share 10% of net profit from designs which incorporate the symbols/patterns of the community from where they were inspired from. We, PATAG team, are very much grateful to have been given the chance to take part on SITMo’s cause and we promised to be of aid to their Ifugao IPED Center, an Ifugao Community Heritage Galleries and Indigenous Peoples Education Center.
Part of the profit from our Ifugao series of products will be donated to and utilized by the Ifugao Community Galleries and Indigenous Peoples Education Center for their Virtual Tour project which aims to teach the Ifugao youth, communities and the rest of the world about the beauty and importance of the Ifugao culture. This will be a long-term partnership between PATAG, SITMo and the Ifugao IPED Center in Kiangan, Ifugao.
